Kaguya

The Kaguya is a clan which possess the ability to manipulate and change their skeleton frame. They use their own bones as deadly weapons. Read more about Kaguya

Academy Student - These are the weakest of any, although there are exceptions. Zabuza, not even being graduated yet, slaughtered more than a hundred of that year's graduates. Gaara, as well, could kill any Chuunin and Jounin that tried to assassinate him at the age of six. Generally are being taught basic techniques, like Clones, Kawarimi, etc..

Genin - Academy student graduates. They demonstrated the ability to pass and are proficient at basic techniques, such as Bunshin no Jutsu. They are assigned to a Jounin, usually three genin to each Jounin. They are then allowed to do mundane and boring tasks, such as weeding, walking a rich man's dogs or finding a fat, rich woman's cat who had reason to flee it's master.

Chuunin - After participating in the Chuunin exam, a genin's intellect and strength are judged by the Kages and Lords that preside as judges. They are now qualified to lead a group of genins during extracurricular activities, such as the village being under attack. They are also sent out on solo or group missions. They mostly travel in groups of four on missions.

Special Jounins - A Jounin that specializes in a specific area of expertise. Morino Ibiki, for example, is head of the Konoha's Interrogation Unit, which is basically torture. Anko is a Special Jounin because of her familiarity with the recent Village of Sound, which Konoha has next to no information about. ANBU teams, which serve as police and assassination squads, are also Special Jounins

Jounins - Chuunins who have shown extraordinary amounts of strength and intelligence are promoted to Jounin. This is a high ranking, and one is sent on more difficult missions than Chuunins, usually involving assassination or theft, or in some cases, information gathering. Jounins are also believed to be mature enough to handle a squad of genins and to train them.

ANBU - A specific devision of ninjas designed much like the royal guard of the Hokage. This group performs assasinations, escorts, and act as body guards as well for the current Hokage. Kakashi was once an ANBU member himself.

Missing-nins - Ninjas who have abandoned their village. As a result, they are marked for death by their village's hunter-nins, who will hunt them ceaselessly until they either die or get their target.

Hunter-nins - Ninjas who hunt down missing-nins to protect their village's secrets. They are also special Jounins. Haku is an example of a (former) hunter-nin.

Kage - The ultimate warrior in a particular village, in other words: the title of referring to the strongest in the village. What they say usually goes. Their power is only rivaled by other Kages.

Bloodline Limit Jutsu

Each village has a standard of how Chuunins and Jounins are distinguished, but as a whole, Leaf Village is pretty lenient on how exactly one should be dressed. Chuunins and above wear a dark green flak jacket that goes down to the waist, and you

could either button it, or just let it loose like Maito Gai. There are some exceptions, Yuuhi Kurenai seems to be covered in a white garment of some kind, and Anko has a fishnet undershirt and a beige trenchcoat. But for the majority, the dark green flak jacket with a swirl on their back signifies that they are from Konoha. Hidden Cloud ninjas have a thicker jacket than Hidden Leaf ninjas. It appears to be made of a hard, plastic covering, and a thick inside. This may be due to Hidden Cloud being located far north, where it undoubtedly is very cold and wet. They also have a dark sash strung around their waist, and presumably thick as well pants.

Hidden Mist ninjas, being from a poor country, have a simple velcro vest. Momochi Zabuza once wore this, and at a glance, it holds nothing on the outside, but it is of a very tough metal, which sharp objects have a most difficult time penetrating.

Hidden Sand Chuunins and (presumably) Jounins, doesn't have velcro or buttons to exactly close it, rather, it seems to be a sort of armor in which the wearer must pull over their heads to wear, and they have shoulder guards to prevent slashes to the arm. They also have six scroll pouches on the front of the vest.

First Exam - At first, this appears to be a written test which is near impossible. However, the bizarre conditions Morino Ibiki sets down, leads to many to believe the tests true intent: cheating. Or, otherwise known as information gathering. Many Gennins who get caught cheating are taken out and they fail the exams. Of course, due to some bizarre circumstances and a loophole in what Ibiki said, Naruto got through without writing the answers or going to the trouble to cheat.

Second Exam - After Morino Ibiki's mind test, Anko's comes in and reveals the next assignment: survival. All teams that passed the first exam are let loose in a forest full of dangers and animals. To increase the level of tension, each team is given one of two scrolls: the Heaven Scroll, and the Earth Scroll. And to add on to this, each team that gets to their destination must have each scroll, and this means many deadly fights. Many died in the second exam. Gaara of the sand and is team successfully completed this portion of the exam faster than any other team in all time.

Preliminaries - Because of the high passing amount of teams from the second test, it is decided to have a prelim match to reduce the amount of the Gennins. This preliminary fight is a one on one battle, randomly chosen by a computer. The winner is chosen by death, or being stopped by an instructor if there is a clear winner.

Third Exam - Only nine passed the preliminaries and made it into the third exams. But due to the fact that Dosu was killed by Gaara there was a little change in the match-ups, leaving only eight people to participate in the tournament. This exam is simpler than the other two. A duel to the finish, either by knockout, or death. If you win you advance to the next match, facing another opponent. But even if you manage to win the tournament, there's a chance that you will not be selected to become a chuunin squad leader. So, even if you lose or don't win all your battles, you still have a chance to become chuunin.

Chakra is simply stated, the energy you use when doing a jutsu. Basically, to do ninjutsu or genjutsu, you must mix your Chakra(which is bodily energy collected from cells throughout the body) and spirtiual energy(which is gained through experiences). Then by doing the proper hand poses Seals, the jutsu can be activated. Once Chakra is activated, various techs and movements can be used. Without Chakra a Ninja wouldn't be able to do much.

The creator of the Naruto series, "Masashi Kishimoto", used the Chakra system as a power that the Ninjas in the series can use, He quotes:

"I needed a hook to tie in those points in the story when characters would use powers that were beyond normal human capabilities. The term is Chakra, which is used as an explanation for readers to better understand the powers. It’s similar to “the Force” in Star Wars, or chi (aka. - Ki) in "Dragon Ball", or magic points in RPGs." In other words, a character's Chakra capacity represents his or her mana, or mental power. This has almost nothing to do with one's physical strength, or in other terms, body stamina.

These are a lot of different Chakra-types we've already seen in both anime and manga. Below you can read more information about these different Chakra-types.

Normal Chakra Normal Chakra is the type of Chakra we see during most of the show, it has a light blue colour to it. This Chakra is sort of a LVL.1 Chakra. It can be used for most skills, but you need a lot of it if you want to perform higher level ninjutsu.

Healing Chakra Healing Chakra is the kind of Chakra medical specialist like Tsunade and Shizune use for healing-purposes. It's a light green Chakra that can heal physical damage on one's body. All we know is that it heals wounds at an accelerated rate, we do not know if every shinobi has, and can mold this type of Chakra. It seems that the user focuses this type of Chakra to their hands, and then touches the injured spot to begin the healing process. It's unkown if this Chakra is actully used for Skills.

Kyubi's Chakra Kyubi's Chakra is a special type of Chakra that can only be used by Naruto, and offcourse the Kyubi itself. Naruto can use this Chakra because of the demon fox that was sealed inside his stomach. He calls upon it in times of great emotional excitement, and later on Jiraiya even tries to learn Naruto on how to control it. The Chakra has a redish Colour. And it's a far more powerfull type of Basic Chakra, it is used to perform high level Skills which requires a tremendous amount of Chakra. When Naruto let's a part of the Nine-Tail's power leak out, the seal that sealed the Kyubi appears on his stomach.

Cursed Seal Chakra This Chakra can only be used when being marked by Orochimaru's Cursed Seal. (Being bitten by Orochimaru, and having survived the 10% survival-chance.) It's a dangerous type of Chakra. And if it's used too much, it will drain the hummanity from a person, and the user becomes a slave to Orochimaru. This Chakra is dark Purple one, and becomes active when the user is out of his regular Chakra. Visible black shapes will appear on the body and the user will be given a tremendous amount of Evil Chakra power.

Chakra Gates Chakra By opening Chakra gates (releases the body's limits on muscle usage/Chakra flow) your body and muscles will be put on a lot of strain. Altough your attack will be a nearly suicidal attack, you will be able to perform continuous speed and high powered attacks, making this highly devastating to any opponent. This is the Chakra Lee uses to perform his lotus-attacks. Apparantly this is a deadly type of Chakra that is best used by people Advanced (strong) enough in Taijutsu, hopefully being able to bear the heavy strain placed on your whole body. Someone can open up to 8 Chakra gates, some of the user's Chakra will turn green and surround him. By opening more Chakra gates, your granted power will increase. But in most cases the result is immobility of the user, due to torn muscle fibers.

Tree Climbing This training includes gathering Chakra into the feet and climbing up a tree. It teaches to control Chakra by bringing out the correct amount of Chakra in the proper area. The amount of Chakra needed to climb a tree is minimal, but it has to be perfect. Kakashi said that the bottom of the foot is the hardest area to gather Chakra. By learning to control Chakra, an individual can master any jutsu if they try.

Water Walking A more advanced training than tree walking. Like tree walking, a user must gather Chakra into the feet and constantly feed the appropriate amount into the water. The release of Chakra must match the weight of the body and the amount necessary to float. It is more difficult to control Chakra since water is not solid and constantly moving. This training is used to teach an individual how to create a specific amount of Chakra into any part of the user's body.

Leaf Concentration This training requires a person to concentrate all his/her Chakra onto a leaf which is placed on the forehead. It's an effective way of training concentration. By calming the mind and defining a target, one is able to draw upon their maximum power. Rumor has it that the Leaf sign on the Hidden Leaf forehead protector originates from this training.

Chakra Molding Molding Chakra can increase the flow of Chakra throughout your body. It helps you do the other 3 trainings well and enables you to access more Chakra when doing jutsu. Molding Chakra can help you gain Chakra to certain part of the body more quickly.
